Sneak peek of NC trip

We arrived at Mom and Dad's house after a great trip down and the girls needed to burn off some energy.

We headed out after dinner to Papa's basketball spot (in front of the garage) and had the girls had a fun time playing. It was still pretty hot, so we jumped on the golf cart and cruised around the neighborhood.

We had one action packed, fun filled week.

 I will post more pictures and tell you more about it in a few days.

Hot weekend

We had one of the hottest weekends since moving from Edwards, CA.

The only difference was here we have humidity..which makes it much much harder to breathe.

We decided to stay in most of the weekend and get some relaxing, playing and painting in.

I painted the front hall and will fresh up the baseboards when we finish the rest of the hall walls.

I like how this picture shows my new hopsack (tan) wall up against the blue that is going bye bye.

The girls did a little painting, glueing, cutting, coloring....crafting.

Sissy went from room to room finding the coolest places to sleep.

Rob enjoyed watching TV in between my honey-dos.

After Church on Sunday we went to lunch and hung out for a few hours at the bookstore.

Hot day fun

The temperature in our area has been way above normal, so no outside playtime for the girls.

Temps have been hovering and finally jumped over 100 this week.

We keep busy with all our activities but some days we just hang at the house, play and sometimes build castles.

This first one was built by Jenna.

This one is Meghan's build.

Sarah's castle is this little one.

Jenna also built a tower.

And last...

but certainly not least....

we make big messes while we are hanging out at home on these hot summer days.

Side note....this is Sarah's room and NO it doesn't normally look like this.

I think I burn an extra 1000 calories a day running after the girls and cleaning up behind them.

Backyard visitor

We have so many beautiful birds hanging out in our backyard. 

We are thinking this is a Red-bellied female woodpecker...but not sure.  Ok, so this is not a Red-bellied....this is a Northern Flicker woodpecker and after I read what they like to eat and where, and the pictures I found online....this is it!  

I'm still going to call it a her, but more than likely this is a male.

 I had to take the picture fast because she was running around the tree and then flew off.

Dress up

Meghan helped Sarah dress up the other day. 

Sarah was wearing a build a bear wig and glasses. She looks like a little lady in this outfit and so super cute!

Trip to the zoo

We spent the day (Saturday) at the Cincinnati Zoo for Jenna's 8th birthday.

It was a little warm out, so most of the animals were napping or hiding in the shade.

We had a great day and were all worn out by the time we left the zoo.
