funny things kids say

was on the phone today and the girls started arguing loud over a large bowl of popcorn. When I got off the phone I told them unless they were bleeding because their leg was falling off to not yell while I was on the phone....Jenna asked, "what if our arm was falling off??"!!!

Pumpkins and Ponies

We picked the perfect day to go to the Undley Pumpkin Patch!! The sun was shining and it wasn't too cold.
We were surprised to see ponies at the patch. This was the first year they had pony rides, so the girls got their first pony rides. They loved it and have talked about getting a horse since we moved here and I bet that riding the ponies will make them want one more.
Meghan and Jenna picked out the perfect pumpkin times 6!!

If you look close you can see Sarah is only on my left side! That is her favorite hang out spot!

Daddy and his girls!

Jenna riding Jess.

HAPPY FALL!!!!

writing on the wall

I was helping the girls get ready for bed the other night and as I turned on their bedroom light I noticed a name and some other marks on the wall. I have talked to Jenna over and over about what we can write on and what we can NOT write on.....so when I saw her name on the wall I thought she was at it again. I called the girls into the bedroom and asked where the pencil was.....because I had taken all writing tools out of their bedroom because scribbles had started showing up on everything. Meghan told me they didn't have any pencils, pens or crayons in their bedroom and Jenna said..."yeah Mom, you took them all". I asked them who was writing on the wall and Jenna said no one was writing in their room....ummmm ok. I pointed at the wall and said "well this looks like writing and it is your name Jenna"..... Jenna let me know that was not written, but the marks were made with a penny. I said that is still writing on the wall.....Jenna, "but Mom we just marked with the penny....no writing and oh, they don't leave marks on the furniture"! The last comment about the furniture just lets me know she tried it on everything! I also found out that Meghan was in on the fun and left a few marks in the bedroom too.
The paint over here isn't like wall paint in the US...this paint is hard to wipe clean and if you do wipe it down you are actualy wiping the paint off..so I will just wet a sponge and it will make the marks disappear. The funny part of this story is I think it's a family habit of writing on things. My Mom told me my sister wrote her name under our coffee table and they didn't know about it until they sold the table to someone else! My oldest niece, Miranda also has put her signature on my Mom's car....Miranda was about 4 years old and found a nail in the driveway. She had gotten to the R in her name before she was caught!
I thought Jenna would out grow these activities earlier in her life, but I guess she is just getting started!!!!

Imagination

When I was growing up I loved to pretend with my sister, S. We loved to fly to Hawaii on our stairs. We packed bags, brought our kids and traveled all over the world...from the stairs in our house in Montana!!! I guess because it was cold and snowy so much we dreamed of the warmer weather! When the weather was warmer, we headed outside and used the two metal trash cans that were in a wood box as a truck and drove all over the state... sitting beside the carport!! We were always busy planning, playing and pretending....so many wonderful memories of my childhood.
What made me think of these moments and a few others, you may ask???
I was cooking dinner tonight and was watching my girls outside pretending to fight off who knows what and race around the backyard with their baby stroller, stuffed animals and a plastic bat!! I was cold, but I opened the window to listen to them talk to their babies and plan their adventure.
I think the best times as a child are when you have your imagination and a good friend!!! To me, my best friends in the world are my sisters and I can see my girls following in the same path. Best friends fight, love, play, shop, eat and enjoy all things simple and not so simple.
The other morning my girls were playing upstairs while I showered and I could hear them playing but didn't really hear hear it until I got out of the shower......As I stepped out of the shower I heard Jenna saying..."I see a vigina"....I looked around and thankfully she wasn't talking about me!haha I didn't want to jump in her conversation until I understood what she was talking about...so I just kept listening and soon found out it was her baby doll, Jackson, speaking. I am guessing this came about because we were looking at baby pictures online a few days ago and we saw a baby boy in all his glory!! I explained the body parts to the girls and feel there is no need to make up a slang word for any body part, so I think that is where this started!!

28 weeks and more

I'm in the home stretch and have officially entered my third trimester. I feel pretty good most of the time and am getting excited about meeting my little Sarah in person. She is a busy little lady and some days, I don't think she stops moving!! I have my OB appointment on Tuesday and hope to hear I passed my glucose screening!!

We have had a busy last month with school, swim lessons and ballet starting back. Meghan turned 7 and had her ears pierced too. Jenna went on her first school field trip to Church's farm this past week. She had so much fun and loved that she could pet the pigs, goats and other animals. She described the play area at the farm in complete detail too!! Meghan has been working really hard on her reading and school work this year. Her class has two birds and a guinea pig in the room and she loves it!!
