Front room paint makeover

Operation get rid of the blue walls started this weekend.

We picked the new color (hopsack by Valspar) a few weeks back. I painted a small spot in the kitchen and then stared at it for a long time, making sure I would like it through out the house. 

Friday morning Rob and I headed to Lowes and picked up a few gallons to start with.

Rob did almost all the work. I painted the baseboards and did touch ups...and pulled off the tape when he finished painting. I also kept the girls and dog out the front room.

Our front room is not formal. One side is where Rob hangs out and the other side is my side (craft side).

I loved seeing the room become a warm tan and more our style.

All done with the paint and we really like it.

 We will decorate and enjoy!

Pretty in Pink

Cake for Papa

I made cupcakes for Jenna's class and had some left over cake mix, so I made this cake for us.

 It is white cake that the girls and I made into a rainbow cake (same as the cupcakes we made for the class) with buttercream frosting.

When I cut it this evening Jenna asked me to take a picture for Papa.

And to tell you...."Love You First"!

Beavercreek City Schools District Art Show

Both Meghan and Jenna had artwork on display at the school district's art show this year.

We are so very proud of both of them and even met Jenna's art teacher.

She told us Jenna was very talented and a great student.

This first picture is Meghan's artwork.

She didn't want me to take a picture of her with it. 

 Jenna didn't mind me taking her picture with her artwork. 

She did have a cheesy smile...but hey, that's cool.

We walked around and looked at the high school students' art and photography work. There are some pretty awesome artists at the high school and we even watched a few of them in action.

First off,   Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms out there (a few days either).

 I hope you all have a great weekend.

Not sure what we will be doing (besides the regular things). I did tell Rob last night I wanted to buy paint and start painting....which was my answer to his what do you want/do for Mother's day.  

The love my girls and Rob show me is priceless and is the best gift.

The big girls read almost every night and I thought I would share a few pictures I took of them last night.

Meghan and Jenna are reading the same Boxcar Children book, but we got a late start last night, so Meghan read the Boxcar book and Jenna read a few little books to Sarah.

Jenna refused to read Dora books....which were the ones Sarah wanted to hear.  Sarah did sit and listen the whole time. 

I also took a few pictures of Sissy.  She loves to lay by the front door. It isn't because she is protecting the house...I think it's because she isn't disturbed and is allowed to scratch the rug.

Her health is still declining and she can't run without getting dizzy and falling. She is driving us crazy at the moment trying to get in all the trash cans, it's like she has turned back into a mischievous puppy.  

Funny girl

Rob was asking all the girls about their days today.  He got to Sarah and asked her if she went shopping with me.  She said no, Mom left me home.haha

Meghan and Jenna looked surprised so I decided to ask Sarah a few more questions. 

Me..."did you go to the mall today?"...S..."yes"  (ummm No we didn't)

Me...."did you go to California today?"....S..."yes". haha  

She is one funny little girl.
