Are we there yet????

This has been a very laid back week for us. I have been on the mend and I've been at home most of the week...the only time I was out was on Wednesday for Sarah's two month doctor appointment. I really enjoyed my outing but was exhausted that afternoon.

Rob is a really good husband and Dad. He had to work this week and he pulled "mom" duties at home too. He even found the time to paint Meghan and Jenna's fingernails:)

I decided on the title of this post because I feel like this is what I feel and what a few people are asking....and the question refers to where are we going to move. I love this time of moving season because everyone that is set to move gets to announce their next assignment. It is also a sad time of year because the great friends I've made are all headed in different directions.

I do, as a normal person, get irritated because it seems people might think I have a say in where we will move. I am along for the ride and yes, I do give my opinion when Rob and I talk about our next move...but I DON'T pick it. In a perfect world we would live around all our families and friends and everyone would see everyone often....but it isn't a perfect world and that won't happen. I think that is where planes, trains and cars will come in to play.....everyone is welcome to visit and check out the areas we live. I think it is a perfect way to see the world.....visit a family member/friends while seeing new sites!

I have to say....we are almost there......stay tuned for information about our next assignment.....coming soon (I hope).

2 months old

Sarah had her two month appointment today and my good friend Kelli took us.

It was fun to spend the waiting time with a friend talking and taking pictures of baby girl.

Sarah is weighing in at 11lbs 15oz and is 23 3/4" long.

She has passed all the 2 month milestones:

She is cooing, laughing, holding her head up, has her step reflex,

can grab and hold things

She loves watching her sisters talk to her and play with her. Sarah has the sweetest little smile and laughs sometimes when she is sleeping. She is still nursing and loves to eat every 2 to 3 hours.

Sarah sleeps well at night and goes from 4-6 hours between feedings.

pity party invite

So yesterday I was trying to get a pity party started for myself because I didn't feel well and I was upset about having had emergency surgery. When I woke up this morning the sun was shining and I had slept well. Sarah nursed her normal times and was a great baby during the night too. I had donuts, coffee and little girl hugs for breakfast. I was able to get a good shower...and I mean good...I hadn't showered since Wednesday, so I really needed a shower. I then received a few phone calls and emails from friends and have food coming for the family for this coming week. My pity party was ruined!!! I'm glad it was because I really didn't want to have it, but I am a bit emotional these days. I think if my party had started it would have been a long one with only me at the party.

Rob is working hard here at the house and has taken over all duties except feeding Sarah. I was thinking of just keeping her on formula, but I really didn't want to do it, so I decided if she started back nursing and I could handle it we would nurse. She was so cute the first time I nursed her yesterday evening...she had the biggest smile on her face and was cooing and trying to eat all at the same time. That lifted my spirits so much. During the night, Rob is getting up to get her and my motrin for me.

So I have to say I will not be sending out the invites to my pity party...maybe next time!

things happen for a reason..

I have always thought that things happen for a reason....well I decided a few weeks ago Sarah needed to try formula and get use to the bottle. I plan on nursing for a while, but just wanted her use to those things. Well, I am so thankful I decided to do that. On Thursday morning I was taken to the ER for severe pain and it was confirmed with a CT scan that my appendix was blocked and inflamed. We caught it early and the surgeon was able to take it out with no complications.

Back to the bottles and formula.....I had not stored any milk for Sarah, but since she had already tried formula, I was not as worried about her being upset and fussy. She did have a very fussy night last night but she survived and so did Rob and the girls. I was able to come home from the hospital early this afternoon and will pump and dump until this evening and then hopefully resume breastfeeding.

Even small things happen for a reason:)

growing too fast

7 weeks and growing. Sarah is wearing a super cute outfit that Aunt Tracy and family gave her for Christmas.

She is a very smiley baby until you pull out the camera and then she pulls out her serious face! I call this her Dad face because this is when I think she looks most like her Dad.

Sarah is an awesome little baby who gets lots of attention and love from her sisters and parents.

She laughs and smiles all the time and has started talking to all of us too.

Meghan and Jenna are convinced Sarah is actually saying words too.

Busy days

If I could type one handed, I think I would have more updates on this blog. I have been pretty busy with the house, kids, life and when I have a few minutes to sit down I am usually holding my little princess. She is great about chilling out in the mornings and afternoons but as the evening rolls around she wants to be held. She is a great baby and doesn't cry too much, but still grunts a lot. She has to be over 10lbs and is very tall (due to her length I have moved her up to 3-6 months sleepers). She is happy to see her sisters and loves her Daddy!

Meghan has moved to another swim lesson with some older girls in it and she loves it. I have to brag and say she is still the best swimmer in the lesson too. I hope to get her to a pool with deeper water soon. She is not use to swimming in deep water and this past summer she was a little hesitant to swim at the local pool in the deep water..but I know she could do it. Meghan is also reading really well. She has started on her first Junie B. first grader book and is excited about reading a chapter book.

Jenna is doing great in her swim lesson and can swim half the length of the pool before coming up for air. Jenna is writing much better and can read some short level 1 books. She loves to craft and is making little love notes to all of us every day. Jenna has taken on the roll of big sister well and loves to look after her baby sister.

Rob recently went to a soccer match in Manchester and had a blast. He is still working hard and we hope to hear soon where we will be heading next. I love to hear where everyone is moving, but at the same time sad to see friends leaving. We are hoping to get out and see some more sights when the weather warms up. Most castles and sites are closed this time of year due to weather and lack of sun.

I think that is about it for us...I'm sure I am missing some info, but Sarah is in need of a diaper change.
