Happy Birthday Meghan

Happy Birthday sweet girl!!!!

I can't believe my baby girl is turning 7 tomorrow. I feel like it was just yesterday I was pregnant with her and getting ready for the big day. I look back over the last 7 years and I am truly blessed to have such a beautiful, loving, smart little girl to raise.
I remember Tuesday September 24, 2002 very well.....I stayed home from work that day because I didn't feel well. I decided to go to my OB appointment and be checked before I headed to work, so I took the day off and got plenty of rest and some house cleaning done. I had my OB appt around 3pm that day and went to the appt alone. I told Rob to hang out by the phone just in case he was needed. I was checked at my appointment and was told I was 2cm dilated and 90% effaced and she was at zero station (which I guess means she had not moved down yet). The worst part of the checkup was when I was told I would probably have another week to go. I was told to check back the following Tuesday for a stress test and then we would go from there. As I was leaving the parking lot I called Rob and told him to hold on and I would go to the Vet appointment with him and the dogs. During the Vet appointment the Vet asked when I was due and asked if I wanted to have her that day. I said I would love to have her that day, but was told I wouldn't. He did a little meditation and hand movement around my body and then told me I would have her at 11:30pm that night. Rob and I thought the guy was a little crazy and laughed about what happened at the Vet. We went home and ate chili dogs and oreos for dinner (really healthy huh!!) and I told Rob I still wasn't feeling well. I got up and went to the bathroom and my water broke!!! We arrived at the hospital after 7pm that night and my parents arrived shortly after we did. Long story short my baby girl arrived at 11:31pm that night !! We had already told the nurses, doctor and my parents about what the Vet did and said!!! Meghan weighed in at 7lbs and was a beauty from day one!!!!

Ears

Yesterday was a beautiful warm day in the UK so we headed out to Bury for lunch and some window shopping. And to pick up a light bulb for one of Rob's headlights....his car failed MOT because it was blown out...so we had to get it fixed to get it to pass MOT. We had a nice lunch at Frankie and Benny's and then headed out to shop...which I think most people in this area were doing the same thing! I really love going to get fresh produce and Meghan and Jenna love cherries, so we stopped by the market and picked up some yummy cherries, strawberries, red peppers and avocados. We then decided to take the girls to look at the flowers in the Abbey Gardens.....which are always beautiful. Along the way we were walking past Claire's and Rob stopped. He asked Meghan what the sign on the window said and she told him..."ear piercing". He asked her if she wanted her ear's pierced and she said..."ummm, yes!!!" I was really surprised because we had talked about waiting because we wanted the piercings to be fun and not a scary thing for her. I was waiting for her to start crying when they were piercing her ears....but NOPE didn't happen!! My baby girl is growing up and I wanted to cry for her because she looked so big and mature (for a 6 soon to be 7 year old). She teared up a little but that was it!!! She has cute little pink earrings in and is so so happy!!! It is her birthday month, so Rob told her it was an early birthday gift!!

She wanted a picture with her American doll with her new earrings in!!!
(the doll is wearing build a bear clothes!!)

Jenna's first day of Kindergarten!!

We have been counting down to this day for a while....or should I say Jenna has been counting down to it! She was so excited to get up this morning and get ready for her first day of Kindergarten. She has the same teacher Meghan had in Kindergarten, so she was excited to see Ms. Shelton today and all her friends. I wasn't sure if she would cry or not....but she didn't and she said Sarah could be my new little buddy around the house during the day! (so I get a few months off with no little buddy)

Jenna was excited to see her friend's, Tyler and Averi this morning.
They are not in her class, but Jenna told them "I'll see you on the playground later today, OK".
My baby girl isn't a baby anymore...she is a big girl!

This is Jenna with Ms. Shelton before class started!!

24 weeks

I am growing....I mean moving right along in my pregnancy! I was going to take different pictures, but I decided this weekend my 24 week pictures would be of me standing on the cliffs of Dover. I am feeling very big, but at the same time I feel great. I am enjoying all the moving, kicks and jumping Sarah is doing. I do hope she slows down a little when she is born because she sure is a busy little lady at this moment! I have my doctor apppointment on Wednesday of this week and I don't think anything big will be happening except hearing how much weight I have gained and measuring my big belly!!

Dover Castle and White Cliffs

We headed to the coast this weekend for some Castle and Cliffs fun in the sun. We didn't expect the sunshine, but it is always nice to have around here! We have been wanting to see Dover Castle since we arrived (or should I say...I wanted to see it). I love history and was excited to see the wartime tunnels and secret hospital. I wish we had taken my parents there this last spring because they would have really enjoyed seeing it too. The best part of the castle (in my opinion) was the secret tunnels and with all cool tours, those are the ones you can't take pictures on. .....side note....parking for the castle is in large fields down the road, but we got lucky and were able to park in the parking lot right beside the Castle Keep...because I'm pregnant!hehehehe
Day two we headed to the White Cliffs of Dover and we walked on some trails along the coast. It was beautiful and we could see the coast of France too. The girls love hiking and running in fields, so this was a great day out for them. We also saw a few horses on cliffs....they are part of the local conservation project.

Hopefully they didn't have this sign above the door during WWII!

Lot's of sally-ports on one side of the castle grounds.

****Stayed tuned for pictures from the Cliffs....I can only upload 5 pictures per post...if someone can tell me how to add more please help!
