19 months old

Shoe size 6-7 ( a little big, but they are new).
Big sisters gifted jibbitz for the crocs!

19 months and super busy, bossy, talking, walking, running and playing....non stop

Sarah loves playing outside and was pushing some toys on the swing this evening.
She is in size 18 months clothing and I have started buying 24 month for the fall/winter.
Still size 4 diapers.
She is very outspoken and has started saying short sentences. She also likes to tell me what belongs to whom!

She tried to close the back door and her hand was in the way, so she called to her big sisters to get kisses and love.
She is a cuddle bug, but only on her terms. She doesn't like to be hugged, kissed or picked up when she is busy getting into something....I mean playing.

She is starting to sleep less during nap time, but still does pretty well at night (730-8 until around 7ish am). Every so often she has a bad night and has to sleep a few hours with us. She has 12 teeth and uses them as much as she can. (My girl loves to eat)
She loves fruit and crackers.

She loves to take bathes.
She helps me feed Sissy and likes to mop and sweep (if I leave them out).
She has started calling for us and will say..."mom, mere" (come here)!

Memom left a message today and as soon as Sarah heard it, she started calling out "MEMOM" over and over. It is hard to explain that Memom couldn't hear her:)

19 months and then some! Hope this next month goes a little slower.

beach and aquarium fun

I have posted my pictures up here from finish to start!ha I wasn't thinking and I have so many, I've decided to keep them this way.
We had a great trip to Carolina Beach, NC with a stop at Chick-fil-a at Monkey Junction to catch up with a good friend, Angie......next stop was the aquarium and then Steph and John's beach condo...which was only a quick stop then we headed to the sand and surf!
We probably did a few days of fun all rolled in one, but since the condo is only a one bedroom, we decided to not stay over. See Sarah liked to get up at 6am in NC and I don't think everyone would have liked that wake up call.
Steph and John have done some great work on the condo and it is in a great location at Carolina Beach!

This was Sarah's first time at the beach and she LOVED it!
She had sand from her toes to the top of her head. She enjoyed the water on her feet but didn't like when the tide would go out and the sand would move under her feet.

All the girls had fun playing in the sand but the big girls all did some boogie boarding. All did great and thankfully it was a green flag day. I didn't get any pictures of them on the boards because I was in the water with them making sure I didn't loose anyone.

Sarah is resting on a bench at the aquarium waiting for the big girls to finish looking at the snakes.
Sarah loved looking at the fish and other animals.

We found Nemo!

Kayla and Meghan are showing Sarah the big 'ole alligators.

In the middle behind the lily pads is a little frog looking out of the water.

We had a great day and ended it with some Britt's donuts for the ride home!

Ears pierced

We were at the Mall today and the girls wanted to see the Smurf's at Build a Bear, so we did a "walk by" and then passed Claire's. Jenna has been thinking about getting her ears pierced for a while....and today she did it!
She told me she wanted to surprise Meghan, so I took Meghan to look in The Children's Place (they were having a great sale, so I got Sarah a few things for the fall/winter). Next thing I knew, Jenna ran out of Claire's to show us her pierced ears!

No tears, crying or freaking out!!
She is my tough little lady and I think she looks beautiful (but always did)!

She went for the red stones because she liked the color!
First thing she said when she showed me was..."Mom, take a picture so I can show Memom and Papa."

feels like....

We move to Ohio and I have this crazy thought that it won't get too hot here. HA Well that crazy thought is gone! I get a kick out of how the weather report is worded..... my current temp is 80....but it feels like 91 (true numbers, just read from the weather.com site). I just need to know how hot it is, so tell me it's 91:)
Thursday was the hottest day for us in a very long time....the high, "it feels like" was 109.
I filled up the girls pool and I let the big girls play in it while Sarah napped.
Then when Sarah woke up we hung out inside until after dinner....it was still showing in the 100s after dinner, but I still let all three head out to play in the pool again.
Sarah LOVES the pool, but hates to get her swim diaper on.
Oh, I have taken a little break from my vacation updates (as you could probably read for yourself)....I wanted to keep current so I wasn't behind in what we are doing!
I think Sarah was looking close at the camera in this first picture because she forgot what it looked like!haha
She was eating a strawberry poptart and is wearing some too.

The girls did a little art work when we were hanging out in the house and the purple all over Sarah's legs is her art work....she didn't get the memo to use paper!ha She actually got ahold of this marker while I was on the phone with someone and even started to draw on my legs...it took me a minute to realize what she was doing.
She did color two pictures all by herself (baby style) and they will be keepsakes!

Meghan and Jenna colored, made some paper dolls, a big mess and had lots of fun!

Sarah decided to try and share her poptart with them!
I hope you are all staying cool and having fun this summer. It seems to be flying by and before long my big girls will be back in school as 2nd and 3rd graders!

Baptism

July 10th 2011
Sarah was baptized by Rev. Sherman Gutherie at
Walker Memorial United Methodist Church

This little white dress was my oldest nieces and all of the girls have worn it for one occasion or another!

This is the new sanctuary but still the same little Church me and now all three of my girls have been baptized in.
I still think of this Church as my Grandmama's Church, but we (my Parents and sisters and I) started attending when my Dad retired from the Air Force and we moved back to North Carolina.

My sister, Steph and her daughter Kayla were able to be with us during this special time!

Cousins, Aunts, Uncles and more

116 family arrived at the old home place to visit, laugh and have a fun day with family. We were missing some of the sisters/brothers, but the turn out was great for such a large family. We had my Mom's cousins and their families also come out for the fun.

We go all out when it comes to family fun! We had a DJ and did a little dancing!

The kids were kept busy on this blow up slide. (This same slide was rented a few years back and one of the older cousins broke his leg on it).....
No injuries occurred during this reunion.

It was great to see some of my cousins because it has been up to 10 years since I've seen some in person.

Let me back track a little and tell you a little bit of family info. My Mom is the 3rd born of 17 children. All were born and raised by my wonderful Grandmama and Grandaddy Moore in Seven Springs, North Carolina. They were a farming family and didn't have a huge house and lot's of money but made up for it in love.
My Grandmama was kinda the head of the house and she is one of the most wonderful women I have ever met and probably will ever meet in my life. She raised her children for other's to love and taught them morals, values and Christian beliefs.
Grandmama and Grandaddy have passed away but all 17 children are still alive and most keep in touch and make sure to come down for the twice a year family gathering. I know Grandmama would love to see all the grandbabies/great grandbabies she has and would make every single one know they were extra special to her.
I have so many wonderful memories of running in the fields, sleeping on the floor, eating at the bench at the long table and playing with all my cousins. I am so happy that I am able to bring my girls down to share in all the fun at the family reunions. The girls are starting to remember extended family and are not as shy around everyone.

No southern family gathering is complete unless you are slow cooking a pig....also known in the south as BBQ:)

recap #2

My busy busy busy little bee had a blast at her Memom and Papa's house.
She wanted Memom to help her get and do most things, so you heard her call our "MEMOM" a lot! It is so sweet to hear her talk and say everyone's names. By the time we left she was saying "aya" (Kayla), "seph" (Aunt Steph), Arley (Harley), Mia and of course Memom and Papa. She was funny with her Papa. She loved playing with him, but would turn into shy girl and then whisper to him.

Sarah explored the house and outside like she was on a treasure hunt! She was into any drawer that could open and went around the house and touched all the lights in the flower beds.
Sarah loved picking up the phones and would then say "ello Memom"! One evening I called Rob and she got on the phone and said "Dad, ello"! It was so clear and cute.
She is talking so much and most I can understand. She loves to call everyone to dinner and one evening we set the table and she saw the high chair at the table and she yelled out "dinner", then climbed up in her seat. I didn't think she could get in it, but she proved me wrong.
*****the high chair she used was the same one I used at her age! It has been painted since then, but still in great condition!
Sarah's favorite pastime is eating.....yep eating. She is eating some cheetos in these last two pictures and Harley was hanging pretty close to her.....just in case she decided to share, which she did often with him.
She even tried to share an ice cream cone with him one night....thankfully we caught her in time, so he didn't get a lick:)
We have all decided that Sarah and Harley are a lot alike....they are both feisty yet loveable and their cuteness lets them get away with things.

recap #1 of vaca in NC

Summer Vacation 2011
567 miles , 1 Mom, 3 little girls and no car sickness started out our trip!
I was up for the challenge of driving us by myself since Rob had to work and it was a great trip. Lot's of bonding time and we made great time and made it in about 10 hours. Meghan normally gets a little carsick, but we had none of that this trip...both ways!
We couldn't find the DVD cord, so we only had DS's and music to keep the girls busy (and some toys).
We set out on our trip a day earlier than originally planned because the big girls and I were going to see Taylor Swift with Steph and Kayla......but very sad to say the concert was cancelled because Taylor was sick:( The girls and I won't be able to make it to the makeup concert because it is on a Wednesday in November.
Steph and I took the girls to see Monte Carlo and we all 5 loved it.

The heat and humidity was up in the triple digits during our trip, so my first few pictures are blurry. I learned pretty quick to keep the lens cap on and take it off after I had been outside for a little while.

The girls played in the water.....road the golf cart around the neighborhood and to the bean field to look for deer, watched TV, ate ice cream.....and played pretty hard!
Sarah and Harley became best buddies. Sarah tried to share all her food with him and found the drawer where his treats are kept....thankfully she couldn't get it open.

Harley became an early bird with Sarah and I....not because he wanted to..but Sarah was up around 6-630 most days, so he got up because he heard us. Sarah would call out his name when we went into the kitchen in the mornings:)
The girls were playing in the water when it started to rain.

Meghan and Jenna said playing in the water was one of their favorite things about this trip.
Stay tuned...more pics to come.

cousins

Cousins are some of your first friends......and last a lifetime.

Just thought I would pop in and show you just a few pictures from our vacation in North Carolina. I will post more once we arrive home.

My girls with cousin Kayla.

Sarah and Valentina are first cousins once removed...or something like that. They were due the same month but V decided to arrive at 32 weeks. They were so cute together and I look forward to watching them grow up together.
