Happy 10th Birthday

Happy Birthday to my first baby girl! 

 Wow, 10 years old.  No longer a single digit:)

We baked cupcakes for her to share with her classmates and some friends.

We attempted tie-dyed (white cake with food coloring) and vanilla frosting.

Tie-dyed cake with white frosting. Meghan wanted me to do a design with the blue food coloring and it came out kinda cool.   We decided to sprinkle the cupcakes after my frosting/food coloring on the cake.

Meghan said everyone loved the cupcakes!

We had Meghan's requested meal on Sunday evening. We had shrimp fettuccine alfredo with bow tie pasta and broccoli.  

We even let Meghan open gifts and cards on Sunday evening.

Meghan had a great birthday!  

She had school and gymnastics today and tons of "happy birthday"s wished for her!

John Bryan State Park

Meghan wanted to go hiking to celebrate her birthday. We headed out after Church on Sunday and went to John Bryan State Park in Yellow Springs.

We picked the trail that was the shortest distance and all three girls did great. It was about 2.8 miles total and I only carried Sarah about half of it!

I'm almost always behind the camera, so I snapped a picture of myself at the beginning of the hike.

Ohio is a beautiful state and has some great outdoor trails! 

Jumping fun

This beautiful weather means more outside play time!

Antennae lashes?

Sarah found a friend today on the trampoline netting.

I had to grab the camera because this little guy/gals antennae were cool.

We are just bug crazy in our house!  

Anything that looks different and cool catches our eyes!

Cheese

This picture is for Uncle John and the dogs (that is what Sarah said before I took it).

She walked into a room I was in earlier today and I jumped when I saw her with the teeth in.

She laughed so hard and thought it was the funniest thing.

She asked me to take this picture.

(Baby girls still has a sore in her nose and it would heal if she would quit picking at it).

Skulls

For $1.99 each we decided to kick off "get decorations ready for Halloween".

We all five painted a paper mache skull!

Sarah's is the multi color one, Rob's is in the front that looks like it's gray/red/blue. Jenna's is the other one up front and she wrote "stay away" on it! Meghan's is the one with eye lashes and fangs and mine is half white half black with red down the middle.

We all had fun and I think everyone wants me to get more to paint. I think my girls would do a paint project daily if I let them.

Oh, Meghan's skull has a pumpkin on the back!.....I had to remove that picture because it had a view of my backsplash and it isn't finished.  I want to hold off showing it until it is done. I guess you can see the countertop, but I will keep a little of the new kitchen view until the final reveal.

Cake Pops

Meghan and I made cake pops for the first time today.

I purchased a box with all the supplies needed, but I had to go out and buy more melts (over melting causes it to mess up).   We will try again and I think I will make them much smaller next time.  They tasted great but I think  they are a little too sweet (I'm a chip/salty kinda girl).

They were easy to make and a fun activity to do with my big girl.

Picture time

I asked Sarah if I could take her picture before Church this morning and she said sure!

She wanted a picture of blankie first.

 This is her serious look!

And a close up. Baby girl has a sore in her nose, one on one of her big toes and is just having a rough weekend.

She still doesn't like going to bed on her own, which means she is tired and a little more bossy/moody.

She is still lovable and hungry!
