First snow!

Not sure how much we are expected to get or if it is planning on hanging around (or "sticking around") but I wanted to get a picture of our first snowfall in Ohio.

little decorating going on

We pulled down the decorations and started getting the house decorated for Christmas.
The girls helped decorate the tree and Sarah was so excited to help unpack the decorations and hang them on the tree. So far she isn't touching too much and she hasn't tried to unwrap any gifts under the big tree either.

Jenna has touched and moved more ornaments than Sarah.....and had like 5 on one branch.
I asked her this morning to just look and not touch any more...but we will see how long that will last.
She will stand by the tree and look at all the ornaments over and over!!

We put our tall tree in our family room.

The first tree Rob and I ever purchased was a 4 foot tree....we bought it our first Christmas as a married couple.
We let the girls decorate that tree and it is in our front living room.

I always get excited about the Christmas season. Today at Church our pastor gave the kids a book for the season and I can't wait to read the stories with the girls!

Gobble gobble

Happy Thanksgiving!
We celebrated with just the 5....I mean 6 of us.
Turkey dinner with all the fixings!

Sarah took care of the after dinner nap for all of us.

Meghan and Jenna and their AG dolls played in the florida room.

Sarah got the first piece of pumpkin pie....with lots of whipped topping!

We made sure the girls didn't grow too much....they all still fit in the dog kennel.
Sissy didn't seem impressed with this!

Sissy got a before and after dinner nap in. She really enjoyed some turkey!

We had a nice family day of food, games, rest and fun!
Hope you all had a great day too!

23 months......WHAT!!

23 months ago this sweet little girl made us a family of 5!
I can't believe she is going to be 2 in a month. She acts like she is already 2....but I still have a hard time thinking about my baby being 2.
Potty training is on hold....because Sarah lost interest in it. No big deal, she will do it one day.
She loves drinking out of "big girl" cups, but you have to watch her because she likes to look at what is on her cups and will flip it upside down to look.....with her drink still in it.
She is a busy little girl and talks all the time. She loves to do her "homework" (coloring and scribbling) while the big girls do their homework.
She is wearing size 5 and 6 shoes, 2t clothes, size 4 diapers.

Sarah loves baby dolls and pretending to cook. She loves to look at books and will sit and listen to short stories.

Sarah has a following at the girls' school! A bunch of little girls stop and talk to Sarah when we are picking up the big girls at school. They are all so sweet to her and even introduce her to more little girls! Sarah loves the attention!

cooking

This weekend we had a lot of fun packed in to two days.
We kicked off the weekend on Saturday morning by heading to Lowes for the build and grow. Meghan and Jenna made a santa sleigh then we headed to shop a little and rounded out the morning with lunch at
Chick-fil-a. The girls had a good lunch then played for about 30 minutes with some school friends (we just happened to be there at the same time...not a planned play-date).

Saturday evening the girls cooked their own dinners! They love watching the cooking network with me and really enjoy learning how to cook. I read a kid friendly pizza recipe for them to try. They rolled out biscuits then custom made the pizzas with their favorite toppings.

Sarah watched them cook, begged for cheese and played little people!

Sunday was just as busy with Church/Sunday school in the morning then a birthday party in the afternoon. The party was for Jenna's friend at Build a Bear, so Meghan and I took Jenna and Meghan did a little shopping with her money. So cool that all the invited friends go home with a bear and outfit from the party too!
I'm thankful for a short school week and so many more things!

When the big girls are away.....

we play....and color....and clean and watch Dora!

Sarah would love to get into the big girls' rooms and mess up their things but I close the doors and keep the rooms neat and tidy until after school.
Sarah loved to chew on markers and crayons, but she is getting better about it. She will color for a while....then take a taste!
She really gets into coloring and her masterpieces are beautiful!

week/weekend update

We have had a busy last few weeks with short school weeks, parent/teacher conferences, gymnastics and just staying busy around the house and town.
The girls both did fantastic in school the first 9 weeks! They are both reading more at home and doing extra math work. They both like school and have good teachers.
The big girls are going to start taking gymnastics twice a week soon (starts the week of Thanksgiving)...so that will add a little more to our "to do" list during the weekdays.

We had visitors this weekend! Sarah was so excited that she didn't want to take a nap on Thursday. She finally crashed around 4:30pm....which was 30 minutes before Memom and Papa arrived!
She was excited to see them and wanted to show them all her toys and play with them.

The big girls were able to show Papa how they can build things....he went with them and Rob to Lowes for the build and grow program. When they got home the girls had to do some science experiments with the science kit they built.

We pretty much just hung out, ate out and had a fun relaxing weekend. Sarah played catch with Memom and Papa (and anyone else she threw the ball at).
Papa and Memom also went with us to the girls gymnastics class on Friday. It was Papa's first time seeing them in action.
We showed Memom and Papa our church and they met some of our church friends.

Even Sissy was pretty excited to see them!
Mom and Dad were surprised at how much all three girls had grown since they last saw them (in early September). Sarah is talking so much more too. They talk to her on the phone, but she talked much more to them while they were here and loved asking everyone the same question....over and over!
Time seems to fly by as I'm watching my girls grow up.

Jenna's house

Jenna asked me to take a picture of her house.....so she could show it to Kayla!
