Life goes on....

As tragedy happens for some, life continues as "normal" for others....but September 11, 2001 was a different day. All American's lives changed that day.

The big question from that day was....where were you....

Well, I was getting ready to start my interviews for the day. I was working at a prison in North Carolina as an "intake caseworker" and was listening to my radio looking for some files when I heard the news..

I walked into the hall and everyone on my hall, that had a radio, was walking out looking around just like I was. I was in shock when the news started coming in that more planes were in the air. I really couldn't wrap my brain around what was happening....and why.

My life changed that day....

and so did yours.

Meghan and Jenna decided they needed to do some baking today!

Meghan asked to bake a cake but I told her I had planned to make cookies, so the girls just took over.

 I did have to run out because I didn't have enough vanilla extract.

My quick trip took a little longer than expected....the Popcorn Festival is going on in Beavercreek 

and the main road is blocked off and the crowd took over the grocery store parking lot.

I told the girls what they needed and showed them how to measure everything.

They did the rest!

The cookies turned out great! 

All the cookie making happened while Sarah was napping...or she would have been pushing the girls off the stool and trying to help too.

Guess who surprised three little girls this weekend!?!

Memom and Papa arrived just in time for Memom to go and watch the big girls in gymnastics on Friday afternoon.

We had a quick two day visit, so we took them to some of our favorite spots.

 There is a really nice walking trail around the pond, near the Beavercreek YMCA.

We went to feed the ducks and enjoy a walk....but by the time we made it around the trail it was so humid we all felt like we had done a hard workout.

 We brought bread to feed to the ducks.   Sarah decided she needed to try and feed them some rocks too.

 We took Mom and Dad to the Air Force Museum on Sunday.

We all enjoyed their visit.  Sarah really enjoyed having them here and said their names over and over. All three were really surprised to see them on Friday!   

The girls always say "I love you first" to Memom and Papa and Sarah got in on it and would say their names...then say "first"!   

Great memories last a lifetime!

I've been looking for a free program to add my "stamp" to my photos and I did it! It will take a little work to get the pictures on the blog, but this will just show the pictures belong to me.

Haircuts

This summer while at my parents house the girls finally figured out that their Aunt S and I did a little hair care on a barbie doll (and few other dolls) when we were younger.

The poor barbie is still "alive" and kinda well, but still has the worst hair cut EVER!HA

So last night Meghan was thinking back to my awesome skills.....I mean she was thinking about cutting doll hair and came up with a great idea! She decided that her and Jenna could wash, cut and style their doll heads (or whatever you call them). I thought they would have fun doing it...but did remind them the dolls hair wouldn't grow back. I told Rob I needed to get the "want" out of their systems, so no one else gets a haircut!

They did great, made a huge mess and the dolls hair actually looks much better than it did before they cut it.

I kept Sarah busy and out of sight. I didn't need her getting any great ideas about hair and scissors.

I told them they did such a great job they could go to hair school when they get older and open up a shop together! They loved that idea and Jenna said Meghan might like to do nails too.

Whatever they decide to do, they will be great at it!

First day of school....2nd and 3rd graders.....and a 20 month old

First day of school for my 7 year old, 2nd grader and 8 year old, 3rd grader!

They didn't seem as nervous as me, thankfully, and our first morning went smoothly.

We headed out a little early to get a parking spot. I walked both to their classrooms and both teachers seem nice. I really hope they both have a great teacher and an awesome school year.

I am so thankful we went ahead a moved here at the end of last school year. It was only 5 weeks, but that made today a little easier on us.

Sarah is also 20 months old today!! She has been having some rough nights, so she was a little tired this morning. She seemed excited to see the girls off at school and she waved at as many kids as she could. After we pulled away from the school she started asking for her sisters. She loves her big sisters and will miss playing with them during the day this school year.

Sarah has started going to child watch at the YMCA. I think that will help her when she heads out to school in a few years (and I get some time to workout)!

Sissy seemed a little nervous this morning and was hanging pretty close to the girls.

The girls got their American girl dolls ready for school last night and Meghan's doll showed up for breakfast this morning! (I think Jenna's doll was still in bed).
